This brand new 60,000 sqft facility was originally designed with conventional water source heat pumps but was well over budget. Working closely with the contractor and consulting engineer, we successfully proposed a value engineered VRV system with decentralized ventilation and individual room air control. This change deleted expensive water piping, cooling towers, VFD's, boilers, and pumps while saving on energy and installation costs. The building owner also realized more available square footage with less requirement designated for mechanical room space. The patient rooms are quiet and offer individual zone control with Daikin's heat recovery arrangement. The I-Touch controller makes diagnostics easy and allows maintenance staff to view the equipment remotely when necessary.
